CFR has won the trophy for the second consecutive time. CFR started the match very well and opened the score in 6th minute, through Ciprian Deac, who headed into the net the ball crossed by Culio, from corner kick. Timisoara had a better possession in next minutes, but they weren't dangerous in front of Nuno Claro's post. CFR incresed the advantage in 28th minute, after a penalty-kick transformed by Peralta, dictated too easy by referee Balaj, after a duel between Tony and Latovlevici. The response of the team trained by Vali Velcea came right away, but goalkeeper Nuno Claro rejected the header of Borbely (31). Then Balaj refused to offer penalty kick to Timisoara, at a contact in the box between Bucur and Gabi Muresan. Being upset by the game of own players and because the referee refused to give them a penalty kick, the fans of Timisoara threw with torches on the field and the referee had to interrupt the match for one minute. Until the break, goalkeeper Pantilimon saved the goal twice, in front of Deac (32) and Culio (41). FC Timisoara had the chance of the goal in the debut of second half (48), but Parks, Cisovsky and Nibombe couldn't score from short distance. But in 53rd minute, CFR managed to score again, when Peralta sent clever a ball at the edge of the box and Culio shot without hope for Pantilimon. Bucur wasted the goal of honour, in 80th minute, Nuno Claro having an excellent intervention. Five minutes later, the goalkeeper of CFR also rejected the header of Artavazd Karamian. In 86th minute, when FC Timisoara was in attack, a few of its fans entered on the field, even in the box of Nuno Claro, moment when Artavazd Karamian finally managed to score. Of course that the goal of Timisoara was cancelled, the match was interrupted again, for four minutes, the fans of Timisoara being evacuated from the field and tribunes. In last minutes, Bucur and Artavazd Karamian had good opportunities to score, but they wasted them.

Antonio Conceicao, coach of CFR Cluj: "The victory is totally deserved although there were some incidents. The score could be easily 5-0 or 6-0. Our surprise was that I have used Deac from the first minute, it was a reward for him because he has prepared very well in last weeks. I wasn't expected at a such of difference of goals, because FC Timisoara is a valuable team. We were more focused and we had the chance to score at the beginning of the match".

Valentin Velcea, coach of FC Timisoara: "I am very sad because we lost the final. I never thought that we will lose in this way. The referee was against us and ruined our game. This doesn't mean that our fans should enter on the field. They had a very civilized behavior the whole season. But this kind of hostile arbitration can lead to this kind of incidents".
