Timişoara - MyPA - 2010

The game was balanced at the beginning, but Timisoara started to keep the ball more after 15 minutes. On 17 minutes Votinov was freed, but he missed the target. On 25 minutes Äijäl got the ball and scored from 25 meters over the keeper who was far away from his goal. 2 minutes later Hietanen gave away corner kick, keeper didn't catch the ball and Ricketts scored. Five minutes later Ricketts ran through and scored. Timisoara had a few chances during the following minutes. MyPa played very defensively in the 2nd half, Timisoara controlled the game and attacked all the time. On 51 minutes Timisoara hit the woodwork. 2 minutes later Timisoara's Axente scored. Timisoara kept on pushing. MyPa's centre back Aho injured on 57 minutes and Lindberg replaced him. On 75 minutes Saxman freed Ricketts, but he missed the target. On 80 minutes Timisoara's Zicu scored the 2nd goal from 16 meters. On 82 minutes Timoska cleared the ball away from the goal-line. On 90 minutes MyPa's forward Kurittu and Votinov had 2on1-situation, but Kurittu's shot was weak and went wide. From the following goal kick Timisoara stared a quick attack which leaded to hassle in front of MyPa's goal and finally Cisovsky scored with a header. There was like 2 different games. In the first half MyPa had good attacks and the game was even. MyPa scored effectively on their chances, while Timisoara seemed very lazy. They must have had wrong attitude before the game. In the 2nd half Timisoara was totally different team and MyPa just defended their lead. If MyPa was better in the first half, Timisoara was clearly better in the 2nd half and deserved at least a draw.

Vladimir Petrovic, coach of FC Timisoara: "I do not know what to say after such a match. My players were too relaxed and did exactly what I told them not to do before this match. I told them that these games are the most dangerous, because you are sure that will qualify. In first half we played like we have never played football. Our defense was catastrophic. I am very disappointed because of the game of my team, but I am happy that we managed to qualify in play-offs. I am aware what would have meant an elimination in this stage. I have encouraged the boys at the break because I knew that is possible to score three goals".
